The earth belongs to them too.

Hi guys! Its been a real lean patch (excitement-wise) for the past couple of months. Most of the people from my batch would almost immediately agree with this. We were so keyed up about working on a ‘real project’. Turns out its no big deal (not for me). So, I’ve been trying very hard to find excuses to avoid traveling across the city everyday for the work. Don’t blame me. Its only natural!

So, I cut myself some slack and took a couple of days off work. I had planned to blow ‘em off by pretending I was living on the other side of the globe. Only, I couldn’t. Courtesy: my friends. I’m not complaining though. They proposed that we do something together, for, we rarely meet. Brilliant! I thought. A trip to the Zoo Park! It excites me to the same hyper-active state as it did a decade ago. Oh! And by the way. Did I mention that I was retiring by 50 and working in a wildlife sanctuary? Kanha, Kaziranga. Wherever.

If money wasn’t required to lead a proper life in our ‘society’ and any job would still be considered a job, I’d rather be caressing lion cubs with a couple of chimps on my shoulders than sit in front of a stupid computer and type my way to glory! Call me nuts and I’ll not contradict you. I promise.

The other day, there was a news article about a rhinoceros. It’s horn was chopped off and the poor rhino was left to bleed to death. What a horrendous act of cruelty! The horn of a rhino is made up of hair (yes, hair) and it is considered to be of great commercial value. But placing money before life? Hmm... Interesting. Imagine our arms being priceless and people just come and chop ‘em off to get a couple of hundreds of dollars. Wouldn’t that be great!

One might say its all big talk and no one does anything about it anyways. Well, I do my bit. Like, for example, the other day I saved a chameleon from being squashed under a truck’s tyre. Only last week people wanted to kill a small snake in my college. I didn’t allow them to do that of course. I shooed it away into the nearby bushes. Its a great feeling. Believe me.

Okay. Enough with animal obsession! Now some non-animal news. My best friend Karthik (more popularly known as Bruce) is done with his GATE exam today. It was so boring for the past couple of months with him preparing day and night and I was left with no company. He says he’s done well. So everyone happies. It pains me to even think that its not long before we will go our own ways. So, the remaining days of B.Tech are going to be one of most precious and treasured memories of our lives (for each one of us, I'm sure). But it also feels good to be finally independent!! Ha!

Right then! Looking forward to good times. Cheers!

Lets make the well known adage ‘LIVE AND LET LIVE’, a policy of our day to day lives.
